I-5 Interstate Bridge Will Close for Maintenance Work August 14

The Oregon Department of Transportation reports that maintenance work will shut down I-5 the Interstate Bridge on August 14.

Work will include adjusting the counter-weights, patching the road deck and making improvements to the lighting and the electrical system.

Here is the I-5 schedule:

On Saturday August 14 to 7:00 a.m. Sunday August 15, all lanes of the northbound span will close. Traffic bound for Washington should take Interstate 84 east to I-205 northbound across the Columbia River. The sidewalk on the northbound span will close but the sidewalk on the southbound span will remain open. During the closure, all northbound traffic must leave I-5 at Hayden Island, Exit 308.

The Interstate Bridge is jointly owned by Oregon and Washington and is maintained by ODOT. The northbound span opened in 1917 and the southbound span in 1958.
