Labor Day weekend is always a busy travel period across Washington. The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) reminds motorists to expect more travelers on the road. Most highway construction will pause to help ease congestion, but delays are still likely – especially in popular areas or due to crashes or wildfire activity. WSDOT urges travelers to plan ahead, stay alert and give themselves extra time to get where they’re going.

Most Highway Construction Suspended

Most Washington state highway construction will pause from Friday, August 29, through Monday, September 1. However, work zone setups may still be in place. Drivers should slow down and give crews plenty of space. Emergency work may also be needed so travelers should remain alert.
