Several I-5 Construction Projects in Oregon to Impact Travel

The Oregon Department of Transportation reports the following I-5 construction and maintenance operations that will impact motorists. Information may be subject to change and may be postponed because of weather.

  • I-5 Northbound from Milemarker 10 to 12.5
    • Road construction is or will be occurring. Use caution.
  • I-5 Northbound at Milemarker 33
    • Road construction is or will be occurring. Use caution. Ramps Affected. Knife River Material crews this week will work on clearing, excavating and installing storm drain pipes, all part of a project to widen the northbound off-ramp to allow for dual right turn lanes. No traffic delays expected, but there may be some queueing in the peak hour. Watch for workers and equipment off the shoulder.
  • I-5 Northbound at Milemarker 40
    • Road construction is or will be occurring. Use caution. Expect shoulder closures later this week near Exit 40, Gold Hill, as contractor installs irrigation ditch liner under the interstate. No traffic impacts. The second of three culvert maintenance projects in the area.
  • I-5 Northbound from Milemarker 48 to 55
    • Road construction is or will be occurring. Use caution. No impacts to traffic but until March 29 expect shoulder closure northbound between Rogue River and south Grants Pass exits as contractor replaces original right-of-way fencing.
  • I-5 Southbound from milemarker 118 to 113
    • Road construction is or will be occurring. Use caution. This project will pave five miles of I-5 and build climbing lanes on the northbound and southbound approach to Roberts Mountain. Construction will continue until summer 2021. On Roberts Mountain (MP 118-116), the speed limit has been reduced to 55 mph in the southbound direction. The southbound shoulder is closed in this area.   • I-5 Northbound at Milemarker 124
    • Road construction is or will be occurring. Use caution. Ramps Affected. Pedestrians should watch for construction activity north of the bridge, from Gaddis Park to the pedestrian bridge.
  • I-5 from Milemarker 289.27 to 289.75
    • I-5 NB & SB Exit 289 on- and off-ramps to/from Nyberg St (Tualatin) The I-5 NB & SB Exit 289 on- and off-ramps to/from Nyberg St will be intermittently closed per the following schedule: Sunday to Thursday nights from 10 PM to 5 AM; Friday nights from 11 PM to 7 AM; Saturday nights from 11 PM to 8 AM.
  • I-5 from Milemarker 290.25 to 290.7
    • I-5 NB & SB Exit 290 on- and off-ramps to/from Lower Boones Ferry Rd (Tualatin) The I-5 NB & SB Exit 290 on- and off-ramps to/from Lower Boones Ferry Rd will be intermittently closed per the following schedule: Sunday to Thursday nights from 10 PM to 5 AM; Friday nights from 11 PM to 7 AM; Saturday nights from 11 PM to 8 AM.
  • I-5 Southbound from Milemarker 294.21 to 288.55
    • Nighttime lane and ramp closures in both directions. The southbound on- and off-ramps to Lower Boones Ferry (exit 290) and Nyberg Street (exit 289) will be closed at night between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Shoulder closures.
  • I-5 Northbound at Milemarker 305.95
    • Road maintenance operations have the exit ramps closed in both directions at Victory Blvd. Use an alternate route. Ramps Affected.
