The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) will implement full nightly closures of northbound and southbound I-5 between Exit 252 (Kuebler Boulevard) and Exit 248 (Delaney Road) from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. on June 22, 23, and 24. These closures are required to safely remove the aging Battle Creek Road Bridge as part of the ongoing improvement project.
Preparation Work
On the evening of June 21, crews will conduct limited overnight lane closures on both directions of I-5 to stage equipment and complete preparatory activities for the full closures.
Detour Routes
Motorists are advised to use the following signed detours during the closure periods:
- Southbound traffic: Exit at 252 onto Kuebler Boulevard, proceed to Commercial Street SE, and re-enter I-5 via the southbound on-ramp.
- Northbound traffic: Exit at Commercial Street, continue to Kuebler Boulevard, and return to northbound I-5.
Work-Zone Conditions
Travelers through the corridor should anticipate a posted speed limit of 55 mph, active daytime and nighttime construction operations, periodic lane, shoulder, and ramp restrictions, and the presence of construction vehicles, debris, dust, and noise. Delays are possible. All motorists are required to exercise heightened caution, obey posted signs, and yield to workers and equipment.
Safety Reminder
Fines are doubled in all Oregon work zones, regardless of whether workers or signs are present. Slow down, move over, and drive with careโyour safety and that of the workforce depend on it.
