The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is planning overnight lane closures on southbound I-5 in Sun Valley and overnight street closures on Sheldon Street, starting Monday, June 8 through Friday, June 12 for bridge repair work on Sheldon Street Overcrossing.
Southbound I-5 will be reduced to one lane overnight between Branford Street and Sheldon Street/Laurel Canyon Boulevard.
The closures are subject to change and are scheduled as follows:
Monday night, June 8 through Friday morning, June 12:
Southbound I-5
- Up to three lanes will be closed on southbound I-5 from Branford Street to Sheldon Street/Laurel Canyon Boulevard starting as early as 9:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m.
Friday night, June 12 through Saturday morning, June 13:
Southbound I-5
- Up to three lanes will be closed on southbound I-5 from Branford Street to Sheldon Street/Laurel Canyon Boulevard starting as early as 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.
Caltrans encourages motorists to allow extra travel time and to drive with caution in the area.
Due to weather or operational reasons, the schedule is subject to change including the times and dates, the number of closures and other details.
This work is part of $1.7 million bridge repair project to address damages to the southbound side of Sheldon Street Overcrossing.
