Central Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority (Sound Transit) is issuing a construction advisory regarding the Federal Way Link Extension.
Sound Transit contractor teams will implement a nighttime right lane closure on southbound I-5 to facilitate crucial landscaping efforts. This lane restriction will occur nightly from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m. across approximately five evenings, commencing Monday, January 5, and concluding Friday, January 9. Motorists are advised to adhere to posted detours for safety.
I-5 Closure Details:
- Duration: Monday, January 5 to Friday, January 9
- Timing: Nightly operations from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m.
- Exclusions: No activity will take place during weekends
- Location: Right lane of southbound I-5, immediately south of exit 147. The remaining three left lanes will remain accessible.
Additional Information:
- Efforts will be made to mitigate noise levels wherever feasible.
- The utilization of cranes, trucks, and other heavy machinery is anticipated.
