I-5 Ramp Closures, Delays as Construction Continues near Halsey

The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) reports that, as part of their I-5 paving project, they will be closing the on and off-ramps at I-5 Exit 209 and I-5 Exit 216 so they can pave and install striping.

You can detour around the closed ramps by using the exit before or after, depending on where you’re going. 

I-5 Exit 216 on and off-ramp closures
June 22 through June 27, ODOT will be working at night to install striping on the I-5 Exit 216 to OR 228 Halsey-Brownsville on and off-ramps.

I-5 Exit 209 on and off-ramp closures
July 7 through July 11, ODOT will be working at night to pave and install striping on the I-5 Exit 209 to Diamond Hill Road on and off-ramps.

Ramps will be open during the day and ODOT will only close one ramp at a time.

You can expect:

  • road work ahead message board icon
  • Crews working mostly at night, Sunday through Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
  • Some daytime work as needed.
  • Single lane closures between 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
  • Construction noise and delays.
  • A reduced speed limit to 55 mph in the work zone.
  • No lane changes allowed where there are double white lines.
