The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) reports that repair work on the I-5 bridge over Rice Hill Frontage Road at Exit 148 (Rice Hill) will be underway soon. Construction involves replacing damaged areas of the bridge deck in the northbound and southbound fast (left) lanes. All work is scheduled for completion by Memorial Day weekend.
Starting the week of April 21, northbound I-5 traffic will be limited to a single lane over the bridge. Watch for workers placing concrete barrier. Drivers should expect congestion and drive with caution.
In May, construction will shift to the southbound side of the bridge. This work will eventually require a 21-day closure of the southbound Exit 148 on-ramp. Dates and detour routes will be announced when the information becomes available.
On Rice Hill Frontage Road, flaggers will provide traffic control as needed. Expect delays under 20 minutes.
