The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) reports that crews have been hard at work on a road improvement project on I-5 between Goshen and Cottage Grove that will make the road safer and more efficient.

Current and future nighttime work throughout August includes concrete repairs and expansion joint replacements across both northbound lanes. In September, we will focus on replacing the southbound bridge deck surface and bridge joints. This project is expected to last until October as we seal cracks in the concrete lanes and replace striping. Drivers should expect the dual-lane highway to be reduced to one lane.

When driving through work zones slow down, pay attention, and move over. Imagine this is where you work! Remember that fines double in all Oregon work zones, whether workers and signs are present or not.

I-5 Lane Closures and Speed Reduction

During construction hours, lane closures will be in place. The speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph in the construction zone for the safety of both drivers and construction workers.

I-5 Construction Schedule

The construction work is scheduled to take place from Sunday to Thursday nights, between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
